Castle Rock and Surrounding Cities

Cherokee Ranch and Castle, a cultural center in Sedalia, is about eight miles outside of Castle Rock. Year-round events and activities include castle tours, musical and theatrical performances, special events such as whiskey tastings, and outdoor adventure hikes. About 12 miles from Castle Rock in neighboring Parker, is The Wildlife Experience. A wildlife and ecosystem museum, the facility offers interactive exhibits, fine art, movies, natural history and educational programs, and events such as live animal days when real animals are brought to the museum.

Colorado Springs offers over 50 natural and man-made attractions as well as 300 days of annual sunshine. Popular attractions include the Olympic Training Center, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods Park, the United States Air Force Academy, Cave of the Winds, Seven Falls, the ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Experience the “grandest mile of scenery in Colorado” at Seven Falls, where a mountain elevator takes you to a platform to view seven different 300 ft. falls.

The city of Golden has ten museums to visit or other historic attractions, Golden History Center, Phoenix Gold Mine. It may take you a few days to see them all!

Take a drive to lookout Mountain Park, five miles west off of Highway 6. It affords a view of snow-capped mountains and Denver’s skyline.

As the biggest little city in northeast Colorado, it is the hub of six major highway intersections, Sterling offers the best of rural American living, while boasting quite a few of the urban perks minus congestion.

Sterling listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings with a variety of architectural stylings and quaint charm. Several buildings are currently being restored or are still in use today. The Overland Trail Museum is home to a vast display of artifacts, the largest collection in all of northeast Colorado, and offers special collection displays as well.
